The Legislative Assembly of Uttarakhand, also known as the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, is a unicameral law making body and consists of 70 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). The seat of the Legislative Assembly is at Dehradun, the interim capital of the state.
The term of the Legislative Assembly is five years. However, it may be dissolved earlier than that by the Governor on the request of the Chief Minister. The last legislative Assembly elections in Uttarakhand were held in Feb 2022.

- The Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly elections in 2022 saw 632 candidates contesting for 70 seats, in comparison to 637 candidates in the 2017 Assembly elections.
- 44 political parties contested the 2022 Assembly elections, compared to 35 parties in the 2017 Assembly elections.
- 35 of the 44 parties secured less than or equal to 0.1% votes individually and only 0.5% votes collectively in the 2022 Assembly elections.
- Uttarakhand had 8.3 million registered voters (electors) in the 2022 Assembly elections, in comparison to 7.6 million registered voters in 2017.
- Only 64.1% of the voters exercised their franchise in the 2022 Assembly elections, a 0.6% decrease over the 2017 Assembly elections. The women's voter turnout of 67.2% was higher than the men's turnout of 61.3%.
- The voter turnout in Uttarakhand remains amongst the lowest of all states in India.
