The Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh, also known as the Andhra Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, is the lower house of the bicameral legislature of Andhra Pradesh. It consists of 175 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA).
The term of the Legislative Assembly is five years. However, it may be dissolved earlier than that by the Governor on the request of the Chief Minister. On 2 June 2014, the state of Andhra Pradesh was split to form the new state of Telangana. Andhra Pradesh was allocated 175 legislative seats with the remaining 119 allocated to Telangana Legislative Assembly. The last legislative Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh were held in April 2019.

- The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections in 2019 saw 2,118 candidates contesting for 175 seats.
- In comparison, the 2014 Assembly elections had 3,910 candidates, 45% higher than in 2019.
- 70 political parties contested the 2019 Assembly elections, in comparison to 90 parties in the 2014 Assembly elections.
- 60 of the 70 parties secured less than 0.1% votes individually and only 0.38% of total votes cast in the 2019 Assembly elections collectively.
- Andhra Pradesh had 39.5 million registered voters (electors) in the 2019 Assembly elections
- 79.7% of the voters exercised their franchise in the 2019 Assembly elections, a 5.2% increase over the 2014 Assembly elections. The voter turnout for men and women were at similar levels at 79.8% and 79.6% respectively.
- The total voter turnout in Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections has been increasing in each election, moving up from 72.4% in 2009 to 79.7% in the 2019 election.
