The Legislative Assembly of Haryana, also known as the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, is a unicameral law making body and consists of 90 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). The seat of the Legislative Assembly is at Chandigarh, the capital of the state.
The term of the Legislative Assembly is five years. However, it may be dissolved earlier than that by the Governor on the request of the Chief Minister. The last legislative Assembly elections in Haryana were held in Oct 2019.

- The Haryana Legislative Assembly elections in 2019 saw 1,169 candidates contesting for 90 seats.
- In comparison, the 2014 Assembly elections had 1,351 candidates, 13% higher than in 2019.
- 71 political parties contested the 2019 Assembly elections, in comparison to 44 parties in the 2014 Assembly elections.
- 60 of the 71 parties secured less than or equal to 0.1% votes individually and only 0.7% of total votes cast in the 2019 Assembly elections collectively.
- Haryana had 18.4 million registered voters (electors) in the 2019 Assembly elections, in comparison to 16.3 million voters in 2014.
- 67.9% of the voters exercised their franchise in the 2019 Assembly elections, an 8.2% drop over the 2014 Assembly elections. The voter turnout for men and women were at similar levels at 68.7% and 67.1% respectively.
- The total voter turnout in Haryana Assembly elections is currently one of the lowest amongst all states in India
