Manipur Assembly Elections
The Legislative Assembly of Manipur, also known as the Manipur Vidhan Sabha, is a unicameral law making body and consists of 60 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). The seat of the Legislative Assembly is at Imphal, the capital of the state.
The term of the Legislative Assembly is five years. However, it may be dissolved earlier than that by the Governor on the request of the Chief Minister. The last legislative Assembly elections in Manipur were held in Feb/Mar 2022.

- The Manipur Legislative Assembly elections in 2022 saw 265 candidates contesting for 60 seats, in comparison to 266 candidates in the 2017 Assembly elections.
- 14 political parties contested the 2022 Assembly elections - 4 less than in the 2017 Assembly elections.
- 4 of the 14 parties secured less than 0.1% votes individually and 0.2% votes collectively in the 2022 Assembly elections.
- Manipur had 2.1 million registered voters (electors) in the 2022 Assembly elections, in comparison to 1.9 million registered voters in 2017.
- 88.3% of the voters exercised their franchise in the 2022 Assembly elections, a 2.4% increase over the 2017 Assembly elections. The women's voter turnout of 90.5% was higher than the men's turnout of 86.1%.
- The total voter turnout in Manipur Assembly elections is amongst the highest in all states in India and shows concern and awareness amongst Manipur residents about the importance of exercising their franchise in improving Manipur's socio-economic conditions.
