India's unemployment rate drops to 6.8% in July

According to the most recent data from CMIE, the overall unemployment rate dropped to a 6-month low of 6.8% in July. ​​The drop is driven by a partial recovery in rural India. After the loss of 1.3 crore agricultural jobs last month, 63 lakh agricultural jobs were added in July. The industrial and services sector continued to bleed jobs.
